Dr. Andrew (Andy) Garner, President of Nanohibitor Technology Inc.

Andy is a Professional Engineer with a PhD in Metallurgy (University of British Columbia 1974) and over 40 years of experience in metal and corrosion-related issues. He has co-authored over 47 technical publications and has been granted 14 patents. He is particularly known for his pioneering problem-solving work relating to pitting corrosion and cracking of stainless steels and carbon steels in extremely corrosive pulp and paper environments.

His numerous awards include receiving the 2010 Frank Newman Speller Award from NACE International for lifetime achievements in corrosion engineering. His career includes working for nearly three decades at the Pulp and Paper Research Institute of Canada (now part of FPInnovations™), first as Head of the Corrosion Group and later as the Director of the Vancouver Laboratory.

He is a Fellow of the Technical Association of the Pulp and Paper Industry (TAPPI); the Institute of Materials (UK); and NACE International, where he recently chaired STG 38, the committee on materials for Pulp, Paper and Biomass Conversion.
